HomeMy WebLinkAbout3336-26 Adopting the Urban Water Management Plan and Water Shortage Contingency PlanI FA 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO.3336-26 A RESOLUTION BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTH TAHOE PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT WHEREAS, the California Urban Water Management Planning Act (Water Code section 10610 et. seq.), ("the Act") mandates that every urban water supplier providing water for municipal purposes to more than 3,000 customers or supplying more than 3,000 acre-feet of water annually, must prepare and adopt an updated Urban Water Management Plan ("UWMP") at least once every five years, the primary objective of which is to plan for the conservation and efficient use of water; and WHEREAS, California Water Code 10632 requires a Water Shortage Contingency Plan ("WSCP") as part of the water contingency analysis for urban water suppliers; and WHEREAS, the South Tahoe Public Utility District ("District") is an "urban water supplier" for purposes of the Act because it supplies more than 3,000 customers, and WHEREAS, in accordance with applicable law, including the requirements of the Act and SBX7-7, the District has prepared its 2025 UWMP and WSCP and has undertaken certain agency coordination, public notice, public involvement and outreach, public comment, and other procedures in relation to its 2025 UWMP and WSCP; and WHEREAS, in accordance with applicable law, including Water Code sections 10608.26 and 10642, and Government Code section 6066, the District made its Draft 2025 UWMP and WSCP available for public inspection and caused to be published with the jurisdiction of the District at least two notices of public hearing regarding the 2025 UWMP and WSCP; and WHEREAS, the District held its public hearing on June 18, 2026 at 2:00 pm, in the Board Room of the South Tahoe Public Utility District, located at 1275 Meadow Crest Drive, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of South Tahoe Public Utility District hereby formally adopts the above -mentioned Resolution No. 3336-26 for the effective date of June 18, 2026.
