Bid Item 13 — Waterline lean- Excavatable Rock Removal- includes, beats not limited to: full
compensation for fumishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment and incidentals, for doing all
the work involved in the delineation, excavation, hydraulic hammering, drilling and blasting or
splitting of rock, protection and repair of existing improvements, transport of spoils to an
approved stockpile area if required), off -haul and disposal of rock, and import with suitable
backfill material.

shown on the Plans, and as directed by the Engineer, including removal and disposal of excess
materials. This bid item includes virgin aggregate base backing of edge of pavement where
paving is not confined by asphalt. Lowering and raising of valve boxes, manholes, etc, and
installation of concrete collars (6"thick, 12"wide beyond box or manhole) as well as restoration
of any concrete curb damaged during construction are included in this bid item. This bid item
includes the restoration of all striping and markings disturbed by construction work. In locations
where a 3-inch mill and overlay (Bid Item 30) is required in the same location as the trench
patch, the area of trench patch shall be subtracted from the area paid under Bid Item 30.
The CONTRACTOR'S payment for this item shall be by the square foot. The CONTRACTOR's
unit price shall be valid for an actual quantity plus or minus 50% of the estimated quantity
indicated on the Bid Form.
Bid Item 30—3-inch Mill and_Pyerlay: includes, but is not limited to: full compensation for
furnishing all labor, materials,tools, equipment, and incidentals and for doing all work involved
in milling three inches (3") of the existing asphalt and paving three inches(3") of asphalt (PG64-
28 NEAT)to the required width and length necessary to restore all pavement surfaces disturbed
by construction either directly or indirectly as shown on the Plans, including removal and
disposal of excess materials. This bid item is intended to be used in areas disturbed by
waterline work. The area for the 8"trench patch (Bid Item 29) in the same location of the Mill
and Overlay will be subtracted from this bid item. This bid item includes virgin aggregate base
backing of edge of pavement where paving is not confined by asphalt. Lowering and raising of
valve boxes, manholes, etc. and installation of concrete collars(6"thick, 12"wide beyond box or
manhole). This bid item includes the restoration of all striping and markings disturbed by
construction work and any temporary delineators as required by the permitting agency.
The CONTRACTOR'S payment for this item shall be by the Square Foot, The CONTRACTOR'S
unit price shall be valid for an actual quantity plus or minus 50% of the estimated quantity
indicated on the Bid Form.
Bid Item 31 —Fire Hydrant Removal- Bid item 31 includes, but is not limited to:full
compensation for furnishing all labor, materials,tools, equipment and incidentals, for doing all
the work involved in the removal and disposal of existing fire hydrant and appurtenances,
including excavation, trench dewatering of system water, removal of valve boxes and covers,
removal of thrust blocks and support blocks, transporting removed materials to an approved
stockpile location (if required), blind flange/cap the isolation valve or existing pipe, backfill and
compaction. This item also includes protection or replacement of existing improvements and/or
landscaping to pre-project conditions, revegetation of disturbed barren areas as ret uired,<repair
and reconnection of existing utilities encountered. Pavement replacement shall be paid for
under Bid Items 29 and 30, as applicable. Groundwater dewatering, where required, shall be
paid under Bid Item 3.
